I’m Jessie. I used to write for work (woo!) but now I just work for work (meh). I also eat for fun and travel for life. I love markets. My hairstyle changes, a lot.

Welcome to this blog that is usually about stuff I like but sometimes, about stuff I don’t like. This blog covers a life in transit, from NY to Guangzhou China, to Washington, DC, then Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and now in Beijing. This blog is a place where all sorts of topics collide, with some photos sprinkled in for good measure.

I’m currently not actively blogging, but feel free to read through archives. I’ll get back soon!

Click to read some F.A.Q., including the answer to why there’s nothing about marshmallows on this blog.

  1. Hi,

I saw your AFSA article (yes, I know it’s 2 years old now) about being a millennial trailing spouse. I just became a millennial trailing spouse and can relate to a lot of what you said.

Would love to touch base at some point as I’m also interested in getting into freelance writing and am curious as to how you got started.

    • Hey Carole! Yes, let’s connect!! I have a lot of thoughts about career and marrying into FS…and although I stopped pursuing writing (at the moment, maybe for good? still not sure), I’m happy to share tips. I’ll come up with a few things that worked for me, and what I found really hard about freelancing as well as things I enjoyed and email you. And, I’m actually expecting now, due in June, so I think you’ll have a few tips for me, as well ;).
